Groves Nets 32 as Wake Forest Fights Out 71-66 Win at Clemson … wakeforestsports.cstv.com - As for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pick; Larry Johnson, Steven Jackson, and Frank Gore seem to be front runners for these spots. This year has been a slow start for all 4 of these running backs. LT seems to not have the same swagger as he did last year as he ran all over defenses, also by receiving and throwing touchdowns. Steven Jackson has been injured for the majority of the year, but when he is healthy he is tearing up other defenses. Larry Johnson has not got his motor running yet this season due to a late start for him by opting out of training camp. Frank Gore started the year off on the same foot as he finished in the first two weeks this year, but has been in a slump lately. Not one of these running backs are leading in the top five for running backs. So I dutifully told other players I have coached over the years the same thing, since it sounds correct . But I’ve come to question this belief; is is really correct to tell players to put their elbow under the ball? Over the past 20 years I’ve observed shooters hundreds of times. So far I haven’t seen any, and I do mean any, shooters who really “keep their elbow under the ball”. Every one of them has their elbow a bit out to the side. The advice to “keep your elbow under the ball” is not completely unhelpful . Some kids have their shooting elbow pointed wildly out to the side.
