Peak ConditioningTraining for Basketball (Art & Science of Coaching) (Art & Science of Coaching) Detailed instructions on how to successfully integrate strength and conditioning training into a year-round basketball improvement program. Section One covers the keys to maintaining peak performance: nutrition, conditioning basics, flexibility, and injury prevention. Sections Two and Three provide instructions for performing 40 basketball-specific strength and power training exercises and includes complete year-round strength programs. The final section examines movement training for basketball, with keys to enhancing speed, quickness and agility. Customer Review: Excellent For Women As coach of a women’s basketball team, I highly recommend this book for WOMEN players, and their coaches, as well. The instructions are clear and concise and extremely thorough. From the first chapter on the importance of flexibility and warm-up to the year-round conditioning calendar at the end, this book is an invaluable guide. Customer Review: good for lacrosse players I gave my copy to one of my lacrosse players. Now, most of the team uses Emma’s book for their workouts. Too bad for Amazon they’re too cheap to buy their own copy. Emma takes a topic most of the teens are too macho to ask questions about and puts them on a logical program.

Adding a few inches to your vertical jump will also help you catch more rebounds, and you might eventually be able to dunk. There are a few workouts that would definitely help you add a few inches to your vertical jump. Squats: One of the most effective techniques in helping you improve your vertical jump. This is a very important exercise and is probably the most important workout to help you add a few inches to your vertical jump. Remember that when squatting, the exercise should be smooth and consistent. You should start out with 10-15 repetitions, and as you get better and stronger, increase the repetitions. Toe Raises: Stand as normal and raise up on your toes. Hold this position for a few seconds, and slowly lower yourself. Perform 30 repetitions of this workout and over time, increase the number. Usually when you look at a matchup the answer is pretty obvious, and that obvious answer is usually the right one. There will always be matchups that can go either way like two solid teams playing each other, the best way to get down on these games is to not get down at all. The problem we usually face is not “who’s going to win?” it’s “who’s going to cover the spread?” I’m talking about basketball and football. When it comes to baseball and hockey the same methods apply without the factor of a point spread unless you like puck lines and run lines. Some people get so deep into stats that all the information starts to cancel out the two teams. The trick is to narrow your research to the important stats the ones that count.
