A basketball game is divided into four quarters of 10 (for international regulations) or 12 minutes (for the NBA). In college basketball there are two 20 minute halves, while most high school games have eight minute quarters. There is half-time break, consisting of fifteen minutes, and two minutes are allowed for the remaining breaks. When a tie results, a five-minute overtime is allowed. Teams change goals after the second half. Though a game should in theory last for around forty minutes, the clock is stopped whenever the ball is not in play. Therefore, games usually take much longer to play out, typically about two hours. Each team has five players, though a full roster usually consists of twelve. There is no limit to the number of substitutions for players, but these can only be made when the game is stopped. Customer Review: Solid Fundamental principes
This is a long DVD, so be patient. I watched the whole DVD and found it helpful for myself and my children.
It goes over the basic steps and correct form of how to shoot a basketball. It has drills that allow you to repeat the steps so that it becomes second nature.
Rick does a good job explaining things - sometimes too much so. He can sometimes be a bit long winded.
Overall a helpful and effective DVD for teaching and improving the right shooting form.
